Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Cardiac)

Contract | Nights | Every third weekend rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac-focused PCU/stepdown unit managing conditions such as CHF, post-CABG, TAVR, chest pain workup, heart catheterization, and pulmonary diagnoses
• Perform IV starts, lab draws, post-surgical drain management, and post-procedure site checks including TR band site assessment
• Manage chest tubes and administer non-titratable drips including heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, nitroglycerin, and lidocaine
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead ECGs; support remote telemetry monitoring
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5, and perform unit-based lab draws
• May be asked to serve in a charge nurse capacity on an as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Kentucky or compact state eligibility
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR, Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience welcome; first-time travelers will be considered
• Charge nurse experience or demonstrated leadership capability
• Familiarity with point-of-care glucose monitoring, bladder scanners, and lift/mobility equipment
• Comfort working in an agency-heavy, collaborative unit environment
